Custom Crafted Wood Furniture

As you shop for that perfect piece of furniture, you will find that many places will use the same terms in describing their products. However some terms can be rather deceptive – it pays to ask BEFORE you buy! At Blue Bench Woodworking

"Custom" – When you place an order, our custom woodworkers start from scratch. Nothing is pre-built! You tell us what you are envisioning and we work with you until you are satisfied with a design. At that point the building process begins. Each piece is uniquely handcrafted to the customer’s specifications.

"Heirloom Quality" – We’ve seen too much furniture advertised “heirloom quality” that looks like it will only last until the customer’s next garage sale! At Blue Bench Woodworking our furniture is built so we can pass it on to our grandchildren some day and we build it the same way for you.  For many beautiful examples of our craftsmanship check out Blue Bench Woodworking's Portfolio of Custom Furniture.

"Solid Wood" – Does oak veneer with pine and plywood construction equal "solid wood furniture"? Not at Blue Bench Woodworking! For us solid wood means that if you buy a cherry armoire it will be solid cherry. No veneers, no plywood, no medium density fiberboard (MDF = sawdust glued together). Using those products weakens the structure of the entire piece of furniture and does not produce quality craftsmanship that will stand the test of time.

"Handcrafted" – You will not find an assembly line of factory workers building furniture at Blue Bench Woodworking. Every item is individually designed to the customer’s order and crafted by hand one piece at a time to create a distinctive piece of furniture that you can proudly use and display in your home for many years to come.
